WardsAuto World released their Top 10 Best Interiors Awards and the GMC Canyon made the list! With an entire brochure of materials to connectivity inside the cabin, the midsize pickup impressed editors and earned its spot. With many new additions to the interior, including OnStar 4G LTE with WI-FI hotspot, drivers can remain in comfort without paying the price.
“It’s important that great interiors be available in every class of vehicle, not just luxury models that most consumers will never be able to afford,” said Drew Winter, WardsAuto World Editor-in-Chief. “The Canyon demonstrates that shoppers need not buy a loaded full-size pickup to get lots of soft surfaces, a Bose audio system, supple and durable leather, an easily navigated touchscreen and advanced safety features.”
The GMC Canyon interior was designed to fit everyone’s needs. The SLE and SLT models feature connectivity and entertainment. An eight inch touch screen complete with radio and multicolor driver information is front and center. The SLT model includes heated front bucket seats and a power passenger seat as well.
WardsAuto examined 42 new vehicle interiors and ranked them on design harmony, materials, safety, comfort, fit-and-finish, and value. Aesthetics and design harmony were the two most weighted categories in the decision.
The Canyon also won a midsize pickup comparison by Cars.com and was recognized in Autoweek’s Best of the Best Truck of 2015.
General Motors has a new interactive game out to reach potential buyers. Partnering with Google, who created the Pac Man on Google Maps game that used streets as a maze, the automaker is offering a virtual GMC Canyon similar to the Pac Man game. Titled the “Canyon Experience”, it allows users freedom in customizing and driving (virtually) a 2015 Canyon.
In all, users can try driving the Canyon in four different environments (mountains, city, shore, or rural) to see how it handles. For more customization, users can add different options like hills, downhill grades, and trailer stability to see how the Canyon handles. The program then shows the truck handling the terrain and what tech is active.
Using Google Street View, users can drop the Canyon onto any street in the United States. Users can also place the truck right in front of their homes to see how it would look. Included in showing buyers the looks and features are several Easter eggs as well, like parking inside the White House.
The “Canyon Experience” is the first of its kind for any automaker and so far it looks like a hit. Don’t take our word for it. You can try it for yourself here.
GMC is shaking things up in the SUV segment. The American carmaker recently unveiled the newly-redesigned 2016 GMC Terrain, showcasing the popular SUV’s bold, new design. Through a combination of space, design, and technology, GMC has made the Terrain even more appealing than ever before.
“Terrain is a popular choice in the growing compact SUV segment, introducing drivers to GMC’s professional grade design and features,” said Duncan Aldred, vice president of GMC Sales and Marketing. “The changes for 2016 provide consumers with even more reasons to consider Terrain as it continues to be a smart choice for customers seeking versatility, style, and technology.”
The 2016 GMC Terrain debut offered a glimpse at a variety of improvements, including new front and rear fascias, a power dome hood design, and a revised model lineup, which now includes SL, SLE-1, SLE-2, SLT, and Denali. With these new revisions and an endless number of available features, the five-seat Terrain is the perfect option for many consumers.
GMC will release pricing for the 2016 Terrain at a future time and the SUV is set to go on sale in the fall. Make sure you check back to Warsaw Buick GMC in the future for more information about the popular vehicle.
Buick has revealed details about the advanced lighting system on the Buick Avenir concept, which shows the direction of Buick’s intended designs for future headlights and taillamps.
New LED technology has allowed the Avenir’s designers to truly hone the look of lighting elements and the light they emit while saving energy.
The Avenir’s fancy headlamps include trios of jewel-like LEDs, arranged in a “wave” shape meant to match the forms inside the cabin. Along with the taillamps, they also feature diffused light elements that form wings across the top of the lamp assembly, each of which incorporates the signature Buick tri-shield logo and continues the layered pattern found on the decorative trim and seating surfaces.
“Signature lighting is often the first design element people notice on a vehicle,” said Martin Davis, design manager for exterior lighting. “A distinctive illuminated graphic is incredibly important—it is an opportunity to visually communicate the design aesthetic of the brand. The wing signature lighting is a Buick design hallmark that will help you identify a Buick product on the road.”
We look forward to seeing these new designs make their way to our lineup at Warsaw Buick GMC!
New features available in the 2015 GMC Terrain are making it easier than ever to stay connected on the go. There’s no need to get behind on social media or stop answering emails, when you can get an Internet connection from your car.
Not only does the 2015 Terrain have OnStar with 4G LTE, but also, it has an actual built-in Wi-Fi hotspot that comes standard with each model. That means nearby cell phones, tablets, and laptops will be able to connect to the vehicle’s Internet directly. If the car is on, so is the Internet.
Of course – no matter how tempting or easy it may be, drivers should never use their mobile devices while behind the wheel. But once you’re safely pulled over or have settled at a rest stop, there’s nothing stopping you.
Plus, two more exterior colors are now available for the 2015 Terrain: Dark Sapphire Blue Metallic and Cypress Green Metallic.
Whether you’re a workaholic who needs Internet at all times, or a camper who wants to stay connected in the wilderness, these 2015 Terrain features make it the perfect vehicle.
Don’t worry. For all of you March Madness junkies, Buick has got your back. Just like last year, if you happen to be watching the NCAA tournament on the NCAA website you’ll notice a button on the bottom left labeled “Boss Button.” When your boss roams around your cube, your professor wanders behind you, or your spouse starts getting suspicious, you can click the button and your screen will look like you are doing something legitimate.
Not only that, Buick has found a way to make March Madness even more fun by introducing a trick shot competition. This isn’t just any competition. It features sixteen competitors, including a four year-old named Titus who does seem to in fact have a magical ability to sink trick shots as well as the Dude Perfect crew who make silly videos for a good cause. Viewers get to pick a potential winner just like with the March Madness bracket.
Molly Peck, Buick’s Director of Marketing and Advertising in an interview with BrandChannel that “Neilsen metrics found that last year’s campaign set a record in terms in terms of memorability.” Looks like a repeat for this year!
When you shop for a new vehicle, you want to find one on which you can rely. It makes sense then, that your research would lead you to information like that released in the 2015 J.D. Power Vehicle Dependability Study in which you’ll find that Buick ranks as the second most dependable brand on the market.
Buick climbed the rankings three spots from last year to reach second place overall. Impressively, the brand is 34% more reliable than the industry’s average.
The study evaluates vehicles in their third year of ownership, meaning this year’s results are based on 2012 models. The LaCrosse won as most dependable model among large cars, and the Enclave earned second place in the Midsize SUV segment.
“Buick’s ranking is a testament to the fact that [we’re] on the leading edge of reliability, quality and customer service,” said Duncan Aldred, Buick’s vice president. “More and more customers are visiting the Buick showroom because we put these values at the core of every model we bring to the market.”
In addition to Buick’s reliability, J.D. Power also recently recognized the 2014 Encore as the highest ranking Sub-Compact SUV in the organization’s Initial Quality StudiesSM for 2013 and 2014 and Buick as the No. 1 mass-market brand for customer satisfaction with dealer service based on the 2014 U.S. Customer Service Index StudySM.
For us at Warsaw Buick GMC, it is our privilege to deliver a comprehensive package of quality products with a reputation for reliability and award-winning service to our valued customers.
School’s in session, and it is time for report cards – the Consumer Reports Report Card, that is. In an unprecedented occurrence, Buick has, for the first time, become the top-ranked domestic brand in the annual Consumer Report’s top ten picks.
To establish the rankings of the Car Brand Report Card, the magazine’s test drivers made assessments based on performance, reliability, and safety of 270 vehicles from 28 different automobile manufacturers. In order to receive a top ranking in the Report, vehicles must also receive high marks for crash or rollover tests from the IIHS or federal government.
Buick was able to surpass both Honda and BMW in the rankings with the Buick Regal taking the lead in the sports sedan segment beating the BMW 328i which claimed victory for the past two years. “Buick has a reputation for large, cushy cars, and they’ve really reinvented themselves pretty quickly,” Jake Fisher, director of automotive testing at Consumer Reports, “In many ways, they’re like the new Lexus, but also sporty to drive.”
Ever wish you had eyes in the back of your head? Well, GMC has developed a close second for parents to use while in the front seat. The GMC Conversation Mirror is a secondary rear-view camera developed by the Yukon design team to help parents keep an eye on kids in the back.
According to GMC, the new Conversation Mirror was initially designed for the Yukon because 30% of its owners are parents with kids under the age of 16. The new mirror pops out of the overhead console’s sunglass holder, which enables you to see behind without turning around. By keeping family-oriented features like this in mind, GMC is catering to customers’ needs.
“As a mom, when it came time to design the next-generation Yukon and Yukon XL, I wanted to give our customers a better way of keeping tabs on their kids without forcing them to turn around and take their eyes off the road,” said Kay Jarboe, product manager for the 2015 Yukon and Yukon XL.
While some drivers may just use their rearview mirror or aftermarket conversation mirrors, GMC wanted to create a well-integrated, not to mention safe, feature. There’s no need to mess with extra parts or your rearview mirror – just tap the overhead console and you’ll have a bird’s-eye view.
For the second year in a row, three Buick models were given the 5-Year Cost to Own award from Kelly Blue Book (KBB). This award is given to models based on value retention and the cost of ownership, meaning that Buick models have some of the highest resale values and cheapest expenses of any car on the market.
According to Buick, the three winners were the Verano, Encore, and Enclave. Because depreciation is often the number one owner expense, the fact that Buicks retain their value over long periods of time makes them easier on your wallet. Not only that, but KBB also considers maintenance, fuel-costs, and finance and insurance fees.
When owners buy each of these models, they save considerably over five years. The Verano, winner of the Entry-Level Luxury Car category, saves owners an average of over $9,000. The Encore, winner of the Luxury Compact SUV category, saves over $14,000, and the Enclave, winner of the Luxury Full-Size SUV, saves drivers over $17,000. That’s a lot of dough in the long run.
The KBB Cost to Own awards are just one more reason to consider buying a Buick. Not only does every model feature the latest technology and a high level of luxury, but by buying these models you’ll also save considerably compared to other models.
