In the past, the Buick brand was not necessarily synonymous with the word luxury. But that’s all been changing over the last couple years—and if the Detroit Auto Show is any indication, that brand direction will continue for a long time. At the show, Buick revealed the Buick Avenir Concept, which gives us a big glimpse into what’s to come for the brand.
You see, the word “Avenir” is actually French for future—and just one look at the beautiful, low-slung, modern exterior aesthetic shows you why. “Avenir embodies Buick design, which centers on effortless beauty and presence without pretense,” said Ed Welburn, vice president of General Motors Global Design. “It demonstrates the growing international reach of Buick and offers an exciting vision of where it can go.”
There are ergonomic and luxury improvements on the interior as well, though, so you’ll be completely comfortable and content in the cabin as well. While the Avenir is simply a concept vehicle and is not headed to production, it definitely shows an exciting future for the Buick brand in terms of both design and performance.
