Ward’s Top 10: GMC Canyon Interior

WardsAuto World released their Top 10 Best Interiors Awards and the GMC Canyon made the list! With an entire brochure of materials to connectivity inside the cabin, the midsize pickup impressed editors and earned its spot. With many new additions to the interior, including OnStar 4G LTE with WI-FI hotspot, drivers can remain in comfort without paying the price.

“It’s important that great interiors be available in every class of vehicle, not just luxury models that most consumers will never be able to afford,” said Drew Winter, WardsAuto World Editor-in-Chief. “The Canyon demonstrates that shoppers need not buy a loaded full-size pickup to get lots of soft surfaces, a Bose audio system, supple and durable leather, an easily navigated touchscreen and advanced safety features.”

The GMC Canyon interior was designed to fit everyone’s needs. The SLE and SLT models feature connectivity and entertainment. An eight inch touch screen complete with radio and multicolor driver information is front and center. The SLT model includes heated front bucket seats and a power passenger seat as well.

WardsAuto examined 42 new vehicle interiors and ranked them on design harmony, materials, safety, comfort, fit-and-finish, and value. Aesthetics and design harmony were the two most weighted categories in the decision.

The Canyon also won a midsize pickup comparison by Cars.com and was recognized in Autoweek’s Best of the Best Truck of 2015.

You can go far, in comfort, in the returning, all-new GMC Canyon from Warsaw Buick GMC.

Virtual GMC Canyon Offers Custom Experience

General Motors has a new interactive game out to reach potential buyers. Partnering with Google, who created the Pac Man on Google Maps game that used streets as a maze, the automaker is offering a virtual GMC Canyon similar to the Pac Man game. Titled the “Canyon Experience”, it allows users freedom in customizing and driving (virtually) a 2015 Canyon.2015 Canyon - Virtual GMC Canyon

In all, users can try driving the Canyon in four different environments (mountains, city, shore, or rural) to see how it handles. For more customization, users can add different options like hills, downhill grades, and trailer stability to see how the Canyon handles. The program then shows the truck handling the terrain and what tech is active.

Using Google Street View, users can drop the Canyon onto any street in the United States. Users can also place the truck right in front of their homes to see how it would look. Included in showing buyers the looks and features are several Easter eggs as well, like parking inside the White House.

The “Canyon Experience” is the first of its kind for any automaker and so far it looks like a hit. Don’t take our word for it. You can try it for yourself here.

GMC Canyon Midsize Truck is a Great Family Vehicle

The crossover segment has been blowing up as of late, and for good reason. It offers great options for families who want the versatility of a pickup truck but the maneuverability and efficiency of a car.

But sometimes that compromise goes too far: what if you want more versatility? Well, you don’t have to go for the full-size pickup—instead; you can get something like the 2015 GMC Canyon midsize truck at Warsaw Buick GMC.2015 Canyon - great family vehicle

It’s got all the luxuries and upgrades you’ll find in a crossover, the manageable size and technology that makes for a great family vehicle, and the unadulterated utility of a vehicle with a bed in the back.

2015 GMC Canyon Wins Best Of The Best At Autoweek

2015 Canyon - Best Of The Best Autoweek takes their Best of the Best award very seriously. First of all, they select eight finalists in both the car and truck category, selections based on evaluations in the areas of “performance, design, build quality, value and significance,” according to GM News. Then comes the fun part. The editors rent out the Michigan International Speedway and spend three days testing the finalists.

This year after the smoke cleared, the 2015 GMC Canyon emerged as the Best of the Best truck. In a statement about the winner, Autoweek said, “It’s truly a truck in the most honest sense…but refuses to forego the requirements a modern buyer has in a vehicle: refinement, modern conveniences and amenities, high-quality build, practicality and style.”

Duncan Aldred, vice president of GMC Sales and Marketing, responded by saying, “Autoweek’s recognition affirms our instincts.” It’s those good instincts that inspired GM to offer AutoTrac automatic four-wheel drive, G80 locking rear differential and OnStar with 4G LTE–the very features that certainly helped them take the title, the same features that we love to show our customers here at Warsaw Buick GMC.

2015 GMC Canyon’ Performance Was Ideal for Towing on Thanksgiving

If you caught the Thanksgiving Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, you probably noticed the sleek trucks hauling the floats. For this year’s event over 55 GMC Canyons were used to help tow parade floats, making this the 34th year in a row GMC has helped out.

We at Warsaw Buick GMC can understand why participants want to use the new pickup model: the 2015 GMC Canyon performance is impressive, to say the least. We’re talking about an optional 3.6-liter V6 with a towing capacity of up to 7,000 lbs when properly equipped.2015 GMC Canyon Performance

“Not everyone needs full-size capability, but they still deserve strength and true-truck attributes that come in larger trucks,” said Duncan Aldred, VP of Sales. “Canyon offers all the capability and confidence with the versatility and maneuverability of a smaller crossover making it the perfect complement for the holiday or any season.”

According to GMC, the Canyon also has a remarkable tuning radius of only 41 feet, another reason it was a great pick for the parade. It also includes a state-of-the-art navigation system and infotainment system, a built-in Wi-Fi hotspot, and OnStar, ensuring no drivers got lost during the hectic event.

New GMC Canyon Offers Ultimate Connectivity with OnStar 4G LTE Service

Sometimes good things come in small(er) packages. Such is the case for the all-new 2015 GMC Canyon. The mid-size pickup offers a host of features in its compact frame, but perhaps one of the most exciting is the available OnStar 4G LTE service with Wi-Fi hotspot capabilities.

Your truck really will be the hot spot as it provides Wi-Fi for up to seven devices in and around the vehicle.

Just imagine setting up camp on the beach and streaming Netflix on your computer for an outdoor movie night. Or maybe you’ll be gearing up for the start of football season as you plan for the tailgate party of the year complete with a little Madden NFL 15 action between you and your friends, even those playing from home.

“GMC customers appreciate excellence. When they do something, they do it well,” said Rich Latek, marketing director for GMC. “With a 4G LTE data connection and the ability to connect up to seven devices, including gaming systems, smartphones, and tablets, GMC owners will draw the envy of nearby tailgaters in stadium parking lots across America.”

OnStar’s 4G LTE service keeps customers connected in new ways, maximizing the potential of the all-new Canyon as it enters the compact truck segment.

GMC Canyon: Safety Pioneer for Midsize Trucks

If you’re shopping for a midsize truck perfect for your young family, it’s likely you will run into some problems with your car seat. Many midsize trucks don’t have rear seats that allow you to have at least 80% of your car seat’s base on the seat cushion—until now. When the all-new 2015 GMC Canyon launches this fall (and arrives at Warsaw Buick GMC), it will not only bring a whole lot of midsize truck capabilities, but also multiple segment safety firsts, including a patent-pending child safety feature.

To ensure the car seat base can fit safely on the seat cushion, the rear jump seat headrest on the passenger side of the extended-cab Canyon can be removed and inserted horizontally into the seat base. This feature extends the base so that the seat can easily and safely fit most child restraint seats.

“It’s an elegant solution that makes efficient use of the limited space in the rear seat in this type of vehicle, by allowing us to adapt the seat cushion length for child restraint installation,” said Eduardo Bugelli, safety performance team lead. “The additional seat cushion length provides more support to the child restraint, which helps to reduce the rotation and the risk of injury in a crash.”

GMC Canyon safety features don’t stop with this creative seat extender—it will also be the first midsize truck to offer Forward Collision Alert and Lane Departure Warning technology, both of which will be part of the available Driver Alert Package.
