According to GMC, the new Conversation Mirror was initially designed for the Yukon because 30% of its owners are parents with kids under the age of 16. The new mirror pops out of the overhead console’s sunglass holder, which enables you to see behind without turning around. By keeping family-oriented features like this in mind, GMC is catering to customers’ needs.
“As a mom, when it came time to design the next-generation Yukon and Yukon XL, I wanted to give our customers a better way of keeping tabs on their kids without forcing them to turn around and take their eyes off the road,” said Kay Jarboe, product manager for the 2015 Yukon and Yukon XL.

June has been a good month for GMC. First, it wins the top Popular Brand Award in AutoPacific’s Vehicle Satisfaction Awards and now it has earned awards for the Yukon and Terrain in J.D. Power’s Initial Quality Study.
The GMC Yukon took the top prize in the large SUV segment and the GMC Terrain came out on top in the compact SUV category.

J.D. Power based this year’s results on responses from more than 86,000 people after owning a new 2014 model year vehicle for 90 days. Respondents answered 233 questions about their cars, which will give automakers useful information to quickly identify problems and make improvements.

In a press release detailing the engineering that gives peace to the Yukon’s interior, GMC goes so far as to say you won’t find a quieter SUV in the segment.
When redesigning the Yukon and the Yukon XL, GMC’s engineers took painstaking measures to create a vehicle that provides both high performance and a luxuriously quiet ride.
“We’ve made extensive improvements on the new Yukon and the interior quietness is a feature noticeable enough to grab your attention. The Yukon is truly a pleasure to drive,” said Michell Shippy, GMC’s performance engineer for noise, vibration, and wind noise.
Features like the SUV’s 75-percent high-strength steel frame, triple sealed doors, and acoustic baffles contribute to the markedly quiet interior.
“The GMC customer is looking for a vehicle that’s a notch above the rest in all aspects, but especially in refinement,” said Duncan Aldred, U.S. vice president for Buick and GMC. “Interior quietness is an essential element to refinement and we keep hearing how impressively silent our new Yukons are.
