Buick Silences Enclave Cabin Noise with New Technology

You will not hear the new Enclave coming. Buick has mastered the art of a silent cabin, making a ride that is both enjoyable and, well, quiet.  It offers a smooth ride that is matched with comfort, making the Enclave a crossover to swoon over.

2015 Enclave Cabin Noise ReducedThe interior is as spacious as a minivan, making room for cargo, and allowing people to both ride contently. It is safe to say that the Enclave has seamlessly entered luxury territory.

Outside noises stay outside. This means you won’t hear that annoying guy next to you at the stop light jamming to some obscure music. Autoweek reports that “potholes and road imperfections create a dull thud somewhere in the distance rather than a jarring crash at a definable corner of the car.”

The Buick Enclave offers all of the features car buyers look for in a crossover for a premium price of $54,000. Schedule your test drive today with us at Warsaw Buick GMC! You will be glad you did!

Buick Drive For Your Students Program Helps Local Schools

Across the country, the costs of after-school programs and extracurricular activities are continuing to rise. To help offset these costs, Buick is extending a helping hand through its Drive For Your Students program, allowing local public high schools to raise funds for a variety of activities.

The program, which is a test-drive initiative, allows dealers and schools to work together and build a community spirit. For each test drive taken at the event, Buick donates money (up to $10,000 per event) to be shared among participating schools.

“This program further demonstrates Buick’s commitment to community and education, as well as the local investment that dealers are making in their home towns,” said Molly Peck, director of Marketing for Buick.

Students who assist in hosting the events not only receive the money for their extracurricular activities, but they also gain experience in helping dealers plan, coordinate, and execute events.

Connectivity Will Come Standard across the Entire 2015 Buick Lineup

Buick is preparing to introduce a ‘new’ kind of connectivity. The automaker has announced that each and every 2015 Buick model will come standard with Apple Siri Eyes Free and Text Message Alerts, and most 2015 Buick models will also come standard with a built-in Wi-Fi hotspot, powered by OnStar with 4G LTE. That’s right – your data draining family can stay connected while you can maintain safe communication with your phone.

“People have become accustomed to having their mobile devices with them wherever they go, and that includes their vehicle,” said Roger McCormack, Buick product director in a news release. “With standard technologies like Siri Eyes Free and Text Message Alerts, Buick provides drivers with a convenient and safe way to stay in touch while on the road.”

The text message alerts feature allows smartphone users with Bluetooth connectivity to listen to incoming text messages read aloud through the car’s speakers. Siri Eyes Free allows users to interact with their smartphones using voice commands. Ask Siri to call people, play music, compose text messages, get directions, check the score, and more.

The car’s IntelliLink user interface is designed to be user-friendly and highly customizable, so each user can create a system that best meets their needs. That, along with the available OnStar with 4G LTE means a built-in Wi-Fi hotspot, providing a mobile hub for passengers and drivers to stay connected, even while on the go. 4G LTE will be available on the Buick LaCrosse, Verano, Regal, and Encore for the 2015 model year and will be available on the entire 2016 Buick lineup.

Finding the Scenic Route: Short Isn’t Always Sweet

When it comes to travel, sometimes the path less travelled turns out to be the best. If you prefer beautiful routes to short routes, there’s very little a GPS can do to help you. Fortunately, Yahoo researchers have come up with a way to measure the “beauty” of certain routes.

An algorithm then automatically chooses a route between two locations that maximizes the beauty along it, according to technologyreview.com. “The goal of this work is to automatically suggest routes that are not only short but also emotionally pleasant,” Daniele Quercia at Yahoo Labs in Barcelona, Spain, and a couple of friends working on the project say.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder though, so it couldn’t simply be a matter of their opinion. Instead, the team created a database of images of various areas of the center of London taken from Google Street View and Geographic. They then used UrbanGems.org to solicit the general public’s opinion of the beauty of each location.

Clearly, the process for determining the most beautiful areas in every location in every city would be incredibly time consuming, so Quercia  and her team have automated the process using photos from Flickr and the data and tags attached to them. They look for numerous photos of a particular area and comments associated with positive emotions.

The idea is fascinating, and routes have proven to be just 12 percent longer on average than their shorter counterpart. Would you spend the extra time walking in order to enjoy a more appealing scenery? Keep an eye out for an app, which is the team’s next major goal.

Buick Brings You the Road Trips of the Future

Long gone are the days of trying to decipher which direction to go while pouring over a heavily-creased paper map. You can also say goodbye to trying to find a decent radio station while travelling in the middle of the wilderness.

Buick is excited to bring families the road trip of the future with its built-in OnStar 4G LTE connectivity. This technology, available on the 2015 Buick LaCrosse, Verano, Regal, and Encore will bring travelling into the modern world and will turn your car into a Wi-Fi hotspot that will allow up to seven devices to connect at once.

“Technology really has changed the way we travel today,” said David Lorenz, marketing manager, Pure Michigan, in a statement. “Travelers are looking for easy access to information and they don’t necessarily just want that in advance of travel. Applications like OnStar and other technologies allow people to make quick, last-minute changes to their itinerary.”

Now, you don’t have to scour travel guides and try to plan every step of your trip weeks in advance. With this 4G LTE connectivity, you can find something new and different while on the go.

GMC Canyon: Safety Pioneer for Midsize Trucks

If you’re shopping for a midsize truck perfect for your young family, it’s likely you will run into some problems with your car seat. Many midsize trucks don’t have rear seats that allow you to have at least 80% of your car seat’s base on the seat cushion—until now. When the all-new 2015 GMC Canyon launches this fall (and arrives at Warsaw Buick GMC), it will not only bring a whole lot of midsize truck capabilities, but also multiple segment safety firsts, including a patent-pending child safety feature.

To ensure the car seat base can fit safely on the seat cushion, the rear jump seat headrest on the passenger side of the extended-cab Canyon can be removed and inserted horizontally into the seat base. This feature extends the base so that the seat can easily and safely fit most child restraint seats.

“It’s an elegant solution that makes efficient use of the limited space in the rear seat in this type of vehicle, by allowing us to adapt the seat cushion length for child restraint installation,” said Eduardo Bugelli, safety performance team lead. “The additional seat cushion length provides more support to the child restraint, which helps to reduce the rotation and the risk of injury in a crash.”

GMC Canyon safety features don’t stop with this creative seat extender—it will also be the first midsize truck to offer Forward Collision Alert and Lane Departure Warning technology, both of which will be part of the available Driver Alert Package.
