Virtual GMC Canyon Offers Custom Experience

General Motors has a new interactive game out to reach potential buyers. Partnering with Google, who created the Pac Man on Google Maps game that used streets as a maze, the automaker is offering a virtual GMC Canyon similar to the Pac Man game. Titled the “Canyon Experience”, it allows users freedom in customizing and driving (virtually) a 2015 Canyon.2015 Canyon - Virtual GMC Canyon

In all, users can try driving the Canyon in four different environments (mountains, city, shore, or rural) to see how it handles. For more customization, users can add different options like hills, downhill grades, and trailer stability to see how the Canyon handles. The program then shows the truck handling the terrain and what tech is active.

Using Google Street View, users can drop the Canyon onto any street in the United States. Users can also place the truck right in front of their homes to see how it would look. Included in showing buyers the looks and features are several Easter eggs as well, like parking inside the White House.

The “Canyon Experience” is the first of its kind for any automaker and so far it looks like a hit. Don’t take our word for it. You can try it for yourself here.

Buick Avenir Concept Has a Really Fancy Lighting System

Buick has revealed details about the advanced lighting system on the Buick Avenir concept, which shows the direction of Buick’s intended designs for future headlights and taillamps.

New LED technology has allowed the Avenir’s designers to truly hone the look of lighting elements and the light they emit while saving energy.

Buick Avenir conceptThe Avenir’s fancy headlamps include trios of jewel-like LEDs, arranged in a “wave” shape meant to match the forms inside the cabin. Along with the taillamps, they also feature diffused light elements that form wings across the top of the lamp assembly, each of which incorporates the signature Buick tri-shield logo and continues the layered pattern found on the decorative trim and seating surfaces.

“Signature lighting is often the first design element people notice on a vehicle,” said Martin Davis, design manager for exterior lighting. “A distinctive illuminated graphic is incredibly important—it is an opportunity to visually communicate the design aesthetic of the brand. The wing signature lighting is a Buick design hallmark that will help you identify a Buick product on the road.”

We look forward to seeing these new designs make their way to our lineup at Warsaw Buick GMC!

Mobile 2015 Terrain Features Bring the Internet Wherever You Go

New features available in the 2015 GMC Terrain are making it easier than ever to stay connected on the go. There’s no need to get behind on social media or stop answering emails, when you can get an Internet connection from your car.

Not only does the 2015 Terrain have OnStar with 4G LTE, but also, it has an actual built-in Wi-Fi hotspot that comes standard with each model. That means nearby cell phones, tablets, and laptops will be able to connect to the vehicle’s Internet directly. If the car is on, so is the Internet.2015 Terrain features

Of course – no matter how tempting or easy it may be, drivers should never use their mobile devices while behind the wheel. But once you’re safely pulled over or have settled at a rest stop, there’s nothing stopping you.

Plus, two more exterior colors are now available for the 2015 Terrain: Dark Sapphire Blue Metallic and Cypress Green Metallic.

Whether you’re a workaholic who needs Internet at all times, or a camper who wants to stay connected in the wilderness, these 2015 Terrain features make it the perfect vehicle.

GMC Canyon Midsize Truck is a Great Family Vehicle

The crossover segment has been blowing up as of late, and for good reason. It offers great options for families who want the versatility of a pickup truck but the maneuverability and efficiency of a car.

But sometimes that compromise goes too far: what if you want more versatility? Well, you don’t have to go for the full-size pickup—instead; you can get something like the 2015 GMC Canyon midsize truck at Warsaw Buick GMC.2015 Canyon - great family vehicle

It’s got all the luxuries and upgrades you’ll find in a crossover, the manageable size and technology that makes for a great family vehicle, and the unadulterated utility of a vehicle with a bed in the back.

Heated front seats, a touchscreen OnStar 4G LTE connectivity, 27 highway mpg, up to 7,000 pounds of trailering capability, and the safety that only a truck can offer are but a portion of everything the 2015 Canyon puts at your disposal. You just have to take it.

Is A More Powerful Buick Encore on the Horizon?

Buick’s small crossover, the Encore, will soon be upstaged by rivals when it comes to power. Currently, the Encore comes with the sole option of a turbocharged 1.4-liter, four-cylinder engine that puts out 138 horsepower – which is less than what the upcoming Mazda CX-3 and Jeep Renegade will offer. The automaker is not only aware of the issue, but prepared to do something about it.

2015 Buick Encore - a more powerful Buick EncoreAccording to Buick-GMC’s U.S. vice president, Duncan Aldred, a more powerful Buick Encore could be on the way. The Encore was the brand’s third-best-selling vehicle in 2014 – momentum the automaker hopes to maintain. In an effort to further expand the crossover’s sales, Duncan acknowledges that more power may be necessary.

“I’m looking to grow volumes, and we’re always looking at customer feedback for what changes we need to make,” Aldred said to Automotive News. “But there’s always a trade-off between cost and benefit.”

Aldred does mention that the Encore’s power is not generally a complaint among consumers, but rather journalists who test drive the vehicle. Now that competitors will offer more powerful engines though, it might be time for Buick to offer a more powerful engine option.

Here at Warsaw Buick GMC, we think the current Encore can certainly hold its own, but look forward to the possibility of a more powerful engine option, too. Tell us in the comments: would you opt for a more powerful engine in your Encore?

OnStar RemoteLink Mobile App

The OnStar RemoteLink Mobile app will soon receive a much needed (demanded) update. The new interface and capabilities are modeled after years of customer feedback and streamlines access to information and application commands.

“The new version of the app is designed to be more intuitive for customers, with a simpler, cleaner design,” said Dan Kinney, director of User Experience, Global Connected Customer Experience at General Motors. “This new user experience should allow our customers to easily find and access all the features RemoteLink has to offer.”

About 1.3 million users regularly use the app and December 2014 set a record, marking nearly 7 million requests. Usage has only grown in 2015 with over 450,000 requests on several days in January.

OnStar RemoteLink is a General Motors development and is available on all makes (Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, Cadillac). In the second half of 2014, drivers could pinpoint their vehicle’s location on a map and it quickly became the third most-used feature.

“RemoteLink use has been steadily increasing over the past year, as our customers realize the advantages of a remote connection to their vehicle,” said Kinney. “Whether they’re warming their car up, cooling it down or checking vehicle information, the app has many practical uses.”

The app’s remote features include remote start/stop, locking and unlocking, and activating the horn and lights. The app is currently available on iOS, Android, Windows, and Blackberry. While iOS and Android already have the update, Windows and Blackberry will see it in the coming weeks.

Buick Avenir Concept is the Best at Detroit Auto Show

In the past, the Buick brand was not necessarily synonymous with the word luxury. But that’s all been changing over the last couple years—and if the Detroit Auto Show is any indication, that brand direction will continue for a long time. At the show, Buick revealed the Buick Avenir Concept, which gives us a big glimpse into what’s to come for the brand.Buick Avenir Concept

You see, the word “Avenir” is actually French for future—and just one look at the beautiful, low-slung, modern exterior aesthetic shows you why. “Avenir embodies Buick design, which centers on effortless beauty and presence without pretense,” said Ed Welburn, vice president of General Motors Global Design. “It demonstrates the growing international reach of Buick and offers an exciting vision of where it can go.”

There are ergonomic and luxury improvements on the interior as well, though, so you’ll be completely comfortable and content in the cabin as well. While the Avenir is simply a concept vehicle and is not headed to production, it definitely shows an exciting future for the Buick brand in terms of both design and performance. Come see us at Warsaw Buick GMC to learn more today.

New Fuel Saving Technology May Come to GM Vehicles Soon

Back in 2012, General Motors’ venture capital arm, General Motors Ventures, invested in a startup company in San Jose, California called Tula Technology. That company has been working on something that it calls Dynamic Skip Fire (DSF) that may find its way into GM vehicles in the near future.

DSF is a new way of using cylinder deactivation and uses advanced digital processing to determine the best and most efficient way to deactivate cylinders in a variety of driving conditions. This fuel saving technology can boost fuel efficiency by as much as 15% in four, six, and eight-cylinder vehicles.

“This technology holds the potential to improve fuel economy on select GM vehicles without degrading power capability when it’s required,” said Jon Lauckner, GM chief technology officer, vice president of Global R&D and president of GM Ventures, in a statement. “This joint effort combines software expertise from Silicon Valley with powertrain expertise from General Motors.”

GM hasn’t released any details about when this technology would be put into production or on which models, but we’re guessing since they’re telling us about it, it should be coming within the next couple of years. For more updates on the new fuel saving technology, stay tuned to the blog here at Warsaw Buick.

“That’s Not A Buick” Ad Proves Scientifically Effective

Have you noticed your own level of “engagement trace” during the latest Buick commercial campaign? These are the commercials where invariably someone proclaims “That’s not a Buick” when he or she is confronted with a new Buick.  The message therein: adjust your expectations; Buick isn’t what it used to be.

As for this mysterious “engagement trace,” that’s what scientists use to measure moment-by-moment focus on some media. Innerscope, a consumer neuroscience firm, measured the engagement trace in 50 volunteers, in addition to heart rate and breathing patterns, while they watched a Buick spot.

The result was “one of the highest overall levels of emotional engagement” Innerscope had ever seen, according to GM Authority. Engagement trace is measured on a 100-point scale. Sixty-five implies a baseline level of engagement. The volunteers who were watching the “That’s not a Buick” spot scored in the 80s.

At Warsaw Buick GMC, we’ve found that driving a Buick is highly engaging as well. Visit us today and find out!

2015 GMC Canyon’ Performance Was Ideal for Towing on Thanksgiving

If you caught the Thanksgiving Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, you probably noticed the sleek trucks hauling the floats. For this year’s event over 55 GMC Canyons were used to help tow parade floats, making this the 34th year in a row GMC has helped out.

We at Warsaw Buick GMC can understand why participants want to use the new pickup model: the 2015 GMC Canyon performance is impressive, to say the least. We’re talking about an optional 3.6-liter V6 with a towing capacity of up to 7,000 lbs when properly equipped.2015 GMC Canyon Performance

“Not everyone needs full-size capability, but they still deserve strength and true-truck attributes that come in larger trucks,” said Duncan Aldred, VP of Sales. “Canyon offers all the capability and confidence with the versatility and maneuverability of a smaller crossover making it the perfect complement for the holiday or any season.”

According to GMC, the Canyon also has a remarkable tuning radius of only 41 feet, another reason it was a great pick for the parade. It also includes a state-of-the-art navigation system and infotainment system, a built-in Wi-Fi hotspot, and OnStar, ensuring no drivers got lost during the hectic event.
